Leading people in worship is a serious calling and we believe that there are certain qualities and expectations required to serve in this area. All involved will be expected to follow the below:
Practical expectations
1. Complete the online sign up form (coming soon)
2. All Youth Band members to attend the monthly meeting unless there is a very good reason for absence. This meeting is important because it is where we are built together as a team and where we learn to flow in the Holy Spirit. It is also an opportunity to grow in our understanding of worship and in our technique.
3. It is expected that worship team members will arrive at 9:30am at the latest on a Sunday morning.
4. It is expected that worship team members will pack up their own equipment (or the equipment they have used) at the end of the meeting.
5. To attend mid-week practices prior to playing on Sundays
Personal Expectations
Worship team members are expected to live in a manner in keeping with the responsibility they carry. This includes the following:
• Walk in righteousness (no hidden ongoing sin issues) i.e. No drunkenness, swearing, smoking, sex, inappropriate relationships.
• Act in a way that reflects yourself, myself and the church in a way that reflects your life as a Christian – this includes the way you behave online.
• Develop a worshipful lifestyle (worship is not just something for Sunday morning but should be part and parcel of everyday life for a worshipper)
• Read the Word (worship will flow out of truth. Truth is in the Word of God) and be prepared to share what God has been revealing to you.
• Speak well of people and protect your heart.
What you say flows from what is in your heart. (Luke 6:45 NLT)
• Expect to give in every area. As members of the worship team we are there to serve the community of the church.
• Attend either Motion or Newgen.
• Attend church even when not on the rota
